How to efficiently use a hand plane for Begginers?
Dear All
Could you post some reading or. Videos about below topics on Hand Plane?
1. What to look for when considering to buy a new Handplane.
2. How to prepare / verify hand plane when it is stock? ( Just out of factory )
3. How to equally plane the wood surface / Techniques on planning or preparing wood out of shop?
Thanks
Rajesh

It's a good video . For newbies we need a video of a local plane. Probably a choice of 3 planes buy anyone of them an this is how you set it up with the most basic sharpening tools/ system.

Re: How to efficiently use a hand plane for Begginers?
Its my humble suggestion(IMHO)Some videoes are presented thinking people know all terminalogies.. Best we start fro. Basic wood working discussion and move on to individual items.. 1) pre process inclides harvesting wood, seasoning and preserving and creating engineering wood, usable lumber, green woods and shaping, joinery etc.. 2)post process, fitting, smoothing sanding finishing.. So on... Three important process,
a) cutting
b) shaping
c) fitting and finishing..
We can colaboratively start and keep moving the content in.. Eventualky get on to tools and techniques.

Re: How to efficiently use a hand plane for Begginers?
I second that. Beginners need hand holding and very basic information. In India it's hand tools where people will start. Basic couple of choices in tools and some very basic tools like hand saw, one basic plane, a square, some measuring tools couple of chisels. And a set of very small and simple projects one can complete with those tools.
After tool selection , using those tools & sharpening is the most important thing that people need to learn.
